Card Edge Connectors

Card Edge Connectors (also known as Edge Card or PCB Edge Connectors in the electronics market) are among the most widely used components for establishing a direct, secure, and high-speed connection between two printed circuit boards (PCBs). In this type of connection, the copper pads on the edge of a secondary board (daughtercard) insert directly into the spring-loaded pins of the card edge connector soldered onto the main board (motherboard). This system eliminates the need for mating connectors (separate male and female headers), significantly reducing overall design and manufacturing costs.
